Class meeting

RUMFORD – Members of the Stephens High School Class of ’52 who wish to be on the committee for the class reunion in September are invited to the home of Barbara Doherty, 220 Franklin St., at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, for the first meeting. Those planning to attend should call Barbara at 364-3470.

Reading group

DIXFIELD – The Adult Reading Group of the Ludden Memorial Library will meet from 6 to 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, downstairs in the Community Room.

They will discuss “The Innocent Man” by James Grisham. Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be served. Ginny Bragdon is the facilitator. All adults who enjoy reading are welcome.

If the weather is bad, people are asked to call the library to check on the possibility of cancellation.

Scrapbook day

RUMFORD – The St. Athanasius-St. John’s Youth Ministry is sponsoring a “Love 2 Scrapbook Day” to be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Eagles Hall. Tickets are $20 a person and will include a lunch, snacks throughout the day, give-a-ways, prizes every hour, raffles, Chinese auction and a 50/50. Demonstrators will be on hand to assist and provide information.

Collins rep in town

RUMFORD – A representative from Sen. Susan Collins’ Lewiston office will hold office hours from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at the Rumford Town Office, 145 Congress St.

Staff Assistant Carlene Tremblay will be available to hear constituents’ concerns and to provide assistance with federal issues and agencies, such as Social Security, veteran affairs, citizenship and immigration.

Rapid renewal

RUMFORD – Rumford residents can renew vehicle registrations online now that the town has launched Rapid Renewal, the Secretary of State’s online service for the renewal of motor vehicle registrations.

Rumford residents can renew their vehicle registrations online, at anytime of the day, from their homes or offices.

Rapid Renewal may be accessed through www.sosonline.org, the Secretary of State’s site for online services.
