BUCKFIELD – A student who police and school officials say stabbed another student in the hand was expelled from Buckfield Junior-Senior High School on Wednesday night by SAD 39 directors.

The incident happened Jan. 10 in the Buckfield Junior-Senior High School parking lot. School Principal Donald J. Reiter said previously that the two boys, both under 18, were playing around with a knife and one got stabbed.

In addition to being expelled, the high school student is charged with aggravated reckless conduct and aggravated assault, Oxford County Sheriff’s Office Deputy William Nelson said previously.

The victim suffered minor injuries that required stitches, Nelson said. School policy states that weapons such as knives are not allowed on school property.
