Dear Sun Spots: On Jan. 5, I accidentally left my cane on a shopping wagon at Oxford Wal-Mart. It was metal with a black handle. My name sticker was on the cane and also a smiley. On the bottom was a new ice gripper. As soon as I got home, I called Wal-Mart, hoping someone had turned it in. Not only did I use this cane, but it has sentimental value, as it was my mother’s. I like to feel there are honest people in our area. I would appreciate it if whoever found my cane would turn it in to the Oxford Wal-Mart’s service desk. It was obvious who it belonged to. Dear Sun Spots: Happy New Year! I read your column every day. You have helped so many people with your answers; maybe you could somehow help me. I have tried everything I know of for help. I am hard of hearing to the point of being deaf. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who might have an extra set of hearing aids or old ones that can still be used. Answer: You may want to ask the bank or credit union you belong to. They may be able to refer you to a reputable financial adviser in the area.

Also, I would love to get the original recorder tape of “Peter and the Wolf.” I would be glad to pay a modest sum for it. I am 95 years old and live on a very limited income. I do hope you can help.
