Dear Sun Spots: The nonprofit nursing home, Community Partners, 24 Old Lisbon Road, Lewiston, is looking for a new or gently used dining room table. It is difficult to find nonpedestal style, 60 inches long or more, solid wood tables, with a height of 30 inches. We do not have a lot of money to spend. Any information or help would be greatly appreciated. I may be reached Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 786-0482. – Jen Staggs, Lewiston.

Dear Sun Spots: On Jan. 5, I accidentally left my cane on a shopping wagon at Oxford Wal-Mart. It was metal with a black handle. My name sticker was on the cane and also a smiley. On the bottom was a new ice gripper. As soon as I got home, I called Wal-Mart, hoping someone had turned it in. Not only did I use this cane, but it has sentimental value, as it was my mother’s. I like to feel there are honest people in our area. I would appreciate it if whoever found my cane would turn it in to the Oxford Wal-Mart’s service desk. It was obvious who it belonged to. No questions asked, just please return my cane. – Louise Twitchell, Bethel.

Dear Sun Spots: I’m wondering if someone would know where one might purchase CD recordings of Christmas music by Dean Martin. Thank you. – No Name, No Town.

Answer:
You might try visiting Bull Moose Music, Lewiston Mall, Lewiston, 784-6463, open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Or you can try searching Amazon.com. Sun Spots found more than a dozen different new and used Dean Martin CDs, and additional Rat Pack Christmas CDs.

Dear Sun Spots: Happy New Year! I read your column every day. You have helped so many people with your answers; maybe you could somehow help me. I have tried everything I know of for help. I am hard of hearing to the point of being deaf. I was wondering if there is anyone out there who might have an extra set of hearing aids or old ones that can still be used. I’m on a low income and cannot afford to get any. Would you see if any of your readers could help me out? Thank you. – No Name, No Town.

Answer:
In addition to responses from readers, try contacting SeniorsPlus, 8 Falcon Road, Lewiston, 795-4010 or 800-427-1241, and request information on how to qualify for a hearing aid at reduced cost.

Dear Sun Spots: As a widow, I am in need of some financial advice but am not sure who to ask without someone trying to sell me something. Can you offer some helpful suggestions for financial advisors in or around the Lewiston-Auburn area? You are such a help to your readers. We all appreciate your column and help. – No Name, No Town.

Answer:
You may want to ask the bank or credit union you belong to. They may be able to refer you to a reputable financial adviser in the area.

Dear Sun Spots: I would like to know where to write to Lou Dobbs of CNN. My mode of communication is by writing and local telephone. Also, I would love to get the original recorder tape of “Peter and the Wolf.” I would be glad to pay a modest sum for it. I am 95 years old and live on a very limited income. I do hope you can help. Love your column. – No Name, Lewiston.

Answer:
You can write to Lou Dobbs by addressing your letter to: Lou Dobbs, Attn: CNN, One CNN Center, Atlanta GA 30303.

Regarding your second request, it’s possible a Sun Spots reader might have a “Peter and the Wolf” recording that they would be willing to part with. If, however, you have Internet access or know someone who does, you might consider searching for this cassette tape, or record, at eBay.com. Sun Spots found a cassette/book set, recorded in 1985 by the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra conducted by Klauspeter Seibel with full orchestra and narration for $6.99 plus $4.25 shipping.
