AUGUSTA – For the second night in a row Deon Cheers led all scorers by dumping in 26 points to lead the University of Maine at Augusta to a 65-53 victory over the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
Leading 36-20 at the half, UMA kept the pressure on UMPI, recording its fifth win in a row to improve to 8-6. Dan Duplissie chipped in with 13 points while Jonathan Hill added 11 points and hauled down 14 rebounds.
Travis Hovey paced the Owls (4-12) with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Teammate Anthony Wingate added 12 points in the loss.
