I’m sure that Robert August meant to be negative in his letter (Nov. 13) about buses exiting the Auburn Middle School. In my experience, however, the opposite situation has developed.

A large sampling of people must have read his letter, because I have noticed a remarkable increase in random acts of driver courtesy and kindness, not just to buses, but to pedestrians and other drivers.

I drive past the Auburn Middle School and Edward Little High School daily, and have ample time to observe the change.

I don’t consider that the city of Auburn has “dropped the ball,” as August stated. People have just bounce-passed it in a more constructive and thoughtful direction. But I thank August for alerting other drivers of a situation that can only get better.
