SOUTH PARIS – Kristi Violette had a game-high 18 points to lead Cony to a 56-50 win over Oxford Hills in KVAC girls’ basketball action Saturday.
Rachel Mack added 14 while Heather Pratt chipped in 12 for the Rams (12-2). Oxford Hills (12-3) was led by Terry Bunce with 14 and Lauren Brett with 11. Kari Pelletier had nine and Megan Joyce had seven.
Cony built a 14-12 lead in the opening quarter and had the lead up to 28-25 by halftime. The Rams held a four-point advantage entering the final quarter.
Hebron 46, Elan 31
HEBRON – Kainani Stevens and Emily Powers each scored 12 points to lead Hebron to a 46-31 win over Elan in girls’ basketball Saturday.
Hebron (6-5) burst out to a 20-3 lead in the first quarter. Elan was led by Kristen Schad with 18 points.
Rockland 47, Oak Hill 34
ROCKLAND – Danielle Hansen drained 13 points to lead Rockland to a 47-34 victory over Oak Hill in KVAC girls’ basketball action Saturday.
The Raiders (2-12) jumped out to a four-point advantage at the end of the first quarter, but trailed 22-13 at the half. Sophomore guard Ambyr Provost led the Raiders with 12 points and five rebounds, while junior forward Emily Sabine contributed 11 points.
Baillie Boggs contributed 11 points, while Kelsey Sirois added another 10 for Rockland.
In an effort to keep the game within reach, Audrey Pelletier sparked the fourth quarter for Oak Hill, scoring all seven of her points in the final frame.
Morse 64, Lewiston 38
LEWISTON – Sonya Dickinson poured in 16 points to lead Morse to a 64-38 triumph over Lewiston on Saturday.
The Shipbuilders (10-4) jumped out to a 23-10 lead in the first quarter, and continued to dominate as Dickinson owned the boards. Maggie Smith pitched in with 14 points for Morse.
The Blue Devils (0-14) were paced by freshman forward Patricia Defosse with eight points.
EL 59, Erskine 43
SOUTH CHINA – Senior Brittney French scored a game-high 26 points to lead Edward Little to a 59-43 triumph over Erskine.
Edward Little outscored Erskine 21-13 in the second quarter to build a 36-25 halftime lead. Freshman guard Kirsten Prue helped lead the fast-break attack, dumping in 16 points, and Kelsey Nicolas added 12 points and nine boards for the Red Eddies (9-5). Erika Malley led Erskine (3-10) with 10 points.
