The Sports Museum of New England houses artifacts from the region’s sports history, with permanent displays that include life-sized sculptures of Carl Yastrzemski, Bobby Orr and Larry Bird; the original Boston Garden penalty box, and Fenway lockers of Curt Schilling and Manny Ramirez. A temporary exhibit, open through the end of the year, celebrates the fishing exploits of Ted Williams, Curt Gowdy and “Mad Fisherman” Charlie Moore.

LOCATION: Fifth floor of the TD Banknorth Garden.

HOURS: Most days from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m., or until 3 p.m. on event days.
