AUBURN – A man whose pit bull bit police during the man’s arrest last week was indicted Tuesday by an Androscoggin County grand jury on a count of felony assault.
Marc Aaron Jonitis, 22, of Lewiston was arrested Jan. 23 for allegedly beating his pregnant girlfriend. His pit bull, Kiss, bit an officer in the buttocks after police entered the apartment. The dog’s teeth didn’t break the skin.
The grand jury also indicted Jonitis on a count of refusing to submit to arrest, a misdemeanor.
Jonitis was being held at Androscoggin County Jail. He has prior assault convictions from 2003 and 2005.
