NEW GLOUCESTER – Frances E. Ainaire, 80, of the Tobey Road in New Gloucester, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday, Feb. 4, at her home.

She was born in Hacketts Town, N.J., Dec. 7, 1926, a daughter of Ethan and Frances (Malloy) Brown. On April 8, 1972, she married Ronald Ainaire in a ceremony held in Minot.

She spent her entire life caring for others. She was a nurse and worked several years at local nursing homes, but did so much more than that for so many years for children as well as adults.

For many years she owned and operated a boarding home for mentally disadvantaged adults and generally cared for the elderly for more than 40 years.

For better than 20 years, she and her husband were also foster parents to many, many children. She always gave so much of herself to others and really exemplified the true meaning of a real caregiver.

She was a member of the Marston’s Corner Baptist Church in Auburn for more than 40 years and was an avid lawn sale shopper who also enjoyed sewing, camping, gardening and good times with family and friends. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She leaves her husband of 34 years, Ronald Ainaire of New Gloucester; her children, Dianna Jackson, and husband, Raymond, of Auburn, Martha Lavoie, and husband, Cliff, of Minot, Waito Koskela, and wife, Pat, of Woodstock, Shirley Koskela, and wife, Judy, of Woodstock, Kenneth Koskela, and wife, Theresa, of Woodstock, Deborah Leblanc, and spouse, Carol, of Lewiston, Katrina Thibault, and husband, Michael, of New Gloucester and Beth Verrill, and husband, Peter, also of New Gloucester; 23 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Wilda Dunham of West Sumner; a brother, Ethan Brown; and many nieces, nephews and close friends.

She was predeceased by her father, Ethan Brown; a son, Doug Koskela; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth Coron.
