DURHAM – Julia C. Rines, 46, of Newell Brook Road, Durham went to be with the Lord on Feb. 3, after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on Oct. 18, 1960, a daughter of Richard Sr. and Elizabeth Rines. She met the love of her life, Jay Sherwood in 1977, and together they raised two daughters.

She most recently worked at Worumbo Mill. Her passions and hobbies included reading, latch hooking rugs and gardening. Her all time favorite past-time was NASCAR racing, No. 6 Mark Martin being her favorite.

The newest pride and joy in her life is her granddaughter, Harper Lee Fallon. She loved to spend time with family, friends and always looked forward to her annual Halloween/birthday party.

She is survived by Jay Sherwood of Durham; daughters, Katie Rines and Erica Fallon, and her husband, Sean Fallon; their daughter, Harper Lee Fallon; her father, Richard Rines Sr. of Lisbon Falls; brothers, Richard Rines Jr. of Lisbon Falls and Roger Rines of Greene; a special adopted sister, Lisa Valeriani; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins; she will also be missed by her best friend of more than 30 years, Debbie Anderson.

She was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth Rines in 1989.
