LEWISTON – State Sen. Peggy Rotundo, D-Lewiston, and the rest of the city’s legislative delegation will host an informational forum on school consolidation from 7 to 9 tonight in the Lewiston Middle School auditorium.

Legislators will discuss proposals for school consolidation. The meeting is open to the public; all are invited to attend.

Several proposals are being considered by the Maine Legislature. Each takes a different path to achieve savings in administrative costs.

“This is one of the most important issues we face this year,” Rotundo said in a prepared statement. “Any time you make a major change to the educational system you are impacting our most important resource, our children. I really want to hear from as many of my constituents as possible on what they would like to see in a consolidation proposal before moving ahead with anything.”

For more information call Rotundo’s office at 287-1515.
