LEWISTON – The YWCA of Central Maine will begin registering for swim lesson on Monday, Feb. 12, for YWCA current members and Feb. 19 for all others. Swim lessons are offered Monday through Thursday mornings, afternoons and evenings and Saturday mornings. Classes are available for all abilities and ages 6 months old to adult. Classes may be a half hour or an hour long, depending on level.

Classes will begin the week of Feb. 24 and are seven to eight weeks in duration. The cost of a half-hour class is $60 for seven weeks and $65 for eight weeks. The cost of an hour class is $85 for seven weeks. Participants of the YWCA swim lesson program must be members of the YWCA.

Basic membership to the YWCA is good for a year and allows members to participate in YWCA programs on a pay-as-you-go basis. YWCA basic membership fees are child (up to age 12), $30; youth (13 to 17), $35; adult (18 to 59), $55; senior citizens (60+), $45. The YWCA also offers package memberships to include unlimited access to YWCA programs. For more information, stop by or call the YWCA.

Private swim lessons are also available by appointment. The cost is $25 per half-hour session. Participants must be members of the YWCA. To book private swim lessons, call the YWCA.
