OES program
AUBURN – Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Easter Star, will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.
The chapter will honor Master Masons at a special program. The meeting will be preceded by a potluck supper at 6:15 p.m. All Eastern Star members are welcome.
Valentine dance
MECHANIC FALLS – There will be a Valentine scholarship dance from 8 a.m. to midnight Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Silver Spurr Banquet Hall. The BelAirs will provide the music.
A raffle on three Longaberger baskets will be held and there will be a 50/50 drawing and an auction at intermission. Many door prices and auction items have been donated by area businesses.
Each year the Rock-O-Dundee Riders give two $500 scholarships to graduating seniors or matriculating college students. All proceeds of the evening will go to the fund. The price of admission is $25/couple or $12.50/single. For more information, call 539-2616 or 539-2322.
Lodge to install
AUBURN – Ashlar Lodge 105, AF and AM, will hold installation of officers on Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Auburn Masonic Temple, 1021 Turner St. The installation will start at 1 p.m., with refreshments to follow. Legion meeting
AUBURN – American Legion Post 31 will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at the post home, 426 Washington St., weather permitting. The Auxiliary will not meet until March 12.
The post welcomes members of the National Guard, Army Reserve, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Marine Corps, veterans and active duty.

Chapter Martel
LEWISTON – Chapter Martel, Association Canado-Americaine, will meet at 1:15 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, at Frye School Hall, 140 Ash St., rear entrance.
The agenda includes discussion of the March 20 Franco Week celebration. A meal to will be offered prior to the gathering at noon at the Mandarin Restaurant, 752 Sabattus St.
President Cecile Paradis invites members to attend. Games will be held after the meeting.
No meeting
LEWISTON – The meeting of the local chapter of Club Richelieu International has been canceled due to the absence of many members on vacation. President Daniel Isabel hopes to hold a meeting in March.
Knitters meet
AUBURN – The Auburn Knitting Group meets from 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays at the Auburn Public Library. All are welcome. For more information, call the library, 333-6640, ext. 4.
Bridge winners
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose on Feb. 5 were: first/second tie, Marta Clements and Luke Merry with Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; third, Jan Arey and Linda Leotsakos; fourth, Helen Little and Alberta Turner; first in C, Cynthia Bonsey and Sue Kaluzynski.
Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays, a mini-lesson is given, and a partner is guaranteed. Call Rosemarie Goodwin at 783-1734 for information about all duplicate bridge games.
