On Friday, January 5, sophomores from Lisbon High School, and from schools in the surrounding area, attended a Career Fair. The program was hosted by Central Maine Community College, located in Auburn. Each sophomore got the opportunity to learn more about career paths that they were interested in. A variety of careers were available to the students, including but not limited to the following: attorney/paralegal, pilot, graphic design, performing arts, interior design, sports medicine, journalism and electricity. When asked about their experience at the career fair, Lisbon High School student Erik Metzger replied: “I learned a lot about the careers which I’m interested in pursuing. And I got insight into those that I’ve never before considered.” I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who worked so hard to bring the Career Fair to fruition. On behalf of all the sophomores at Lisbon High School, we would also like to say thank you to the Community Presenters who took the time from their work schedules to tell us all more about the careers they were obviously passionate about.
