Taking a nice walk down to Lake Auburn can be lots of fun or it can be a death trap. My mom and I had decided to take a quick walk to Lake Auburn, which shouldn’t be too dangerous. Right… Wrong. It was getting pretty dark so we decided to head back to our house. We crossed Center Street running as fast as we could so a car didn’t hit us, took a few steps, and right there in front of us was a female moose and two babies. And nothing’s more dangerous than any mother animal with its babies.
Boy, did we scare them because they stared at us for about ten minutes waiting to see if we would move but were not fools so we didn’t move until they were finally out of sight. Before they left us alone we witnessed them almost get hit by two different cars twice. That was enough for them so they just left. For the entire walk back home, I checked behind me about every twenty steps just to make sure those three crazy moose didn’t get us by surprise. Luckily, they didn’t.
