MILBRIDGE – Thomas Edward Nyberg, 30, of Steuben, previously from Auburn, died in a car accident on Route 1A in Milbridge, Washington County, Jan. 31.

He was born Nov. 1, 1976, in Lewiston, the son of John E. Nyberg, Sandra Simard Nyberg, and stepson to Peter D. Letourneau Sr. He was an Edward Little High graduate, class of 1996, and attended Central Maine Community College.

While living in Auburn, he worked for Luiggi’s Pizza in Lewiston and also at Rite Aid in Auburn as a pharmacy technician. He then decided to leave town and work construction in the Bangor area. This is where he met his fiancée, Jaime Geel and made the move to Washington County. There he also worked in construction, for Friendship Trap, and most recently was employed at Ace Hardware in Columbia. He and Jaime were the proud parents of two adorable little boys, Dylan, 3 and Jacob 3 months.

Tom loved the outdoors no matter what the season. He enjoyed motorcycling, snowshoeing, skiing, ATVing in the barrens, fishing and fixing anything mechanical. Most of all he loved his children and family. He worked hard to support his little family, and was always there for anyone who needed help. He had a huge heart, engaging personality and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his parents of Auburn; a sister, Jennifer Kimble, her husband, Leonard, and their daughter, Katy, of Auburn; a stepsister, Rene Letourneau of Portland; stepbrother, Peter Letourneau Jr., and his wife, Barbara, of Frostburg, M.d,; grandfather, Paul Simard of Auburn; grandmother, Theda Nyberg of Mechanic Falls; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and very special close friends.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Paul Nyberg; and his maternal grandmother, Gloria Simard.
