BETHEL – A workshop, “How Children and Teens Grieve Differently,” will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, at the West Parish Congregational Church. The workshop is the second in a series on “Recognizing and Coping with Loss and Grief.”

Three speakers, all trained in the bereavement program offered by Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, Bereavement and Grief Support Services, will be Jake Lariviere, program coordinator, Gail Sasseville, facilitator of the Grieving Children and Teens Program, and David Walton, counselor of Meroby Elementary School.

The speakers will focus on the changing thoughts, feelings and actions of toddlers to teens as they react to a death in their lives. Suggestions for parents to help their grieving children at each developmental age group will be presented.

The final two workshops are “How to Cope with Unexpected and Traumatic Loss” on Saturday, March 3, and “How to Deal with Depression Following Loss and Grief” on Saturday, March 17. Both workshops will be held at the West Parish Congregational Church from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

All workshops are free and open to the public. Advance registration will be appreciated to help with planning. For more information, call co-chairwomen Rosabelle Tifft at 824-2053 or Wendy Iseman at 824-8610.

The workshops are sponsored by Western Mountains Senior College, SAD 44 Community Education, Bethel Family Health Center, Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice Bereavement and Grief Support Services, and Wayne DuPlessis, counselor.
