East Poland – John E. Hutchinson, 50, of Harris Hill Road, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, Feb. 6, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on June 29, 1956, the son of Manley and Arlene (Dearborn) Hutchinson.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era. He was part of the evacuation team during the fall of Saigon. He later worked for Bath Iron Works for many years until his illness.
He was a member of the VFW of Mechanic Falls, commander in the Royal Rangers Boys Ministry, and member of the 1st Assembly of God Church. He was very proud of a camp built by the Royal Rangers on property he donated called “Camp Hutchinson.”
He is survived by his beloved wife and help mate, Mary Ann Hutchinson; sisters, Ruth Theriault, and husband, Ronald, Kathleen Castonguay, and husband, Roger and Janice Loveless, and husband, Benny; brothers, David Hutchinson, and wife, Marcella, Charles Hutchinson, and wife, Mary, Donald Hutchinson and Timothy Hutchinson, and wife, Sherri; sister-in-law, Deborah Bushey; stepchildren, Annette Jurczak, and husband, Edward and Norm Farrington, and wife, Susan; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Ronald Hutchinson.
