LEWISTON – The Androscoggin Valley Soil and Water Conservation District and the Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments will offer municipal officials and contractors an update on recent changes in rules in the stormwater management law.
A municipal stormwater management workshop will be offered free from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, at the USDA Service Center’s Conference Room, 254 Goddard Road. Pre-registration is required. Call Jane with the Conservation District Office at 753-9400, ext. 400. Space is limited and registrations will be honored on a first come, first serve basis.
Session instructors will be LaMarr Cannon, coordinator with Maine NEMO, and Kristie Rabasca, senior engineer with Edwards and Kelcey. Session topics will include updating town stormwater ordinances to reflect new DEP rules, how the rules impact development, and incorporating low impact development practices on smaller projects.
