NORWAY – Patients and staff at Stephens Memorial Hospital are seeing the art of Katherine Rohnert of West Poland during January and February. Rohnert is the latest artist to grace the halls of the hospital due to the art program project of Stephens Volunteer Services.

Rohnert began her career in newspaper layout, later working in publishing before focusing her artistic abilities on painting. She has studied watercolor and oils as well as acrylics, attending the Charles Kello Academy of Traditional Oil Painting.

Rohnert furthered her education in interior design and has completed a master artist course as well.

Of her works, which are exhibited throughout Maine and the country in public and private collections, Rohnert said, “The scenery, architecture and people are the things I love most about Maine . . . I want to portray these feelings in my paintings.”

Stephens Volunteer Services works with local artists and artisans to provide year round exhibits at the hospital.
