LEWISTON – Julia Finlay, 94, of Lisbon, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Russell Park Manor.
She was born in New York City on Aug. 3, 1912, the daughter of Isaac and Catherine (Grant) Whitty.
In 1985, she moved from Long Island to Lisbon, where she and her husband, Stephen, made their home. They had married in 1936 and he died in 1992.
She was a homemaker, having raised her four children. She also worked as a bookbinder for several years. She was proud that she was the first woman to be admitted in the Local Union 119B.
Julia had a very special place in her heart for her grandson, Tom Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Joan Kaefer, Jean Bald and Eileen Stanton; her son, Stephen Finlay Jr.; and nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by five sisters and one brother.
