AVON – Roberta F. Fairbanks, 69, of Avon, died Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 7, at her home at Shadagee Apartments.

She was born in Phillips on July 9, 1937, a daughter of Chester and Mildred Kinney Fairbanks. She received her education in Phillips schools and while in high school excelled in athletics.

She worked at GH Bass in Wilton for several years. She later was a school bus driver for SAD No. 9.

She enjoyed people and her friends at Shadagee Housing. She also loved to fish.

She is survived by her brother, Richard Fairbanks and his wife, Theda, of Weld; a half sister, Eleanor of Yarmouth; a nephew, Scott Fairbanks of Levant; nieces Marion Douglass of Westbrook, Linda Fairbanks of Florida, Debbie McKinney of Farmington, and Barbie Castonguay of Wilton; and cousins Priscilla Goding of Hadley, N.Y., Irma Hardy of Phillips, and Sandy Cyr of Temple.

She was predeceased by a sister, Glenys Fairbanks; half sisters, Ferris Dustin and Lillian Huff; and half brothers, Montel Dunham and Hartley Fairbanks; a niece, Valerie; and a nephew, Randy.
