LEWISTON – “Creating Wellness for Life” will be the topic of discussion at the Wednesday, Feb. 14, meeting of the Cancer Wellness and Support Group at Central Maine Medical Center.

Marcy Covey, an experienced health and wellness educator, will lead the support group through a series of gentle exercises, including seated aerobics and stretches. She will also introduce some relaxation techniques, including breathing exercises and guided meditation.

Participants should wear comfortable clothing. Covey will also answer questions about exercise and how it relates to cancer recovery.

The program is jointly sponsored by the Central Maine Comprehensive Cancer Center’s “Wellness for Life” program and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, inspiring and empowering people affected by cancer.

The free Feb. 14 program will be offered from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Conference Room I in the lower level of the 12 High Street Medical Office Building.

The CMMC Cancer Wellness and Support Group is open to people living with cancer, as well as their spouses/partners, family members and caregivers. Light refreshments will be served.
