AUBURN – Muriel M. Turmenne, 79, passed away quietly on Feb. 8, at Clover Manor. Her husband of 58 years, Dominique, was at her side to see her off on her final journey.

She was born in Rumford on July 3, 1927, the daughter of Adelard and Valeda Poisson. As a child, she moved to the Lewiston area, where she would reside, marry and raise her family. She worked in various area shoe shops and nursing homes and was especially proud of receiving her GED at age 62.

She was a kind, gentle spirit who so enjoyed children and kittens. She had a generous heart and easy smile that endeared her to all who knew her. She was everyone’s sweetheart. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her four children and their spouses, daughter, Claire Chandler, and her husband, Gary, of Loudon, N.H., daughter, Liset Higgs, and her husband, David, of Lewiston, son, Marcel Turmenne of Lisbon Falls, and his wife, Linda, who was Muriel’s third daughter at heart, and Ronald Turmenne, and his wife, Vickie, of Titusville, Fla. She leaves a legacy of love in her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves a second family, the folks at Clover Manor who have loved and cared for her these many years.
