LEWISTON – A Funeral Mass for Georgette T. Rivard was celebrated Saturday at the Basilica of Saints Peter & Paul, following prayers at the Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Lariviere celebrated the Mass and recited committal prayers at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
The pall was placed on the casket by Mrs. Rivard’s family, Joanne and Ron Charpentier, and Theresa, Robert and Marc Tremblay. The readings were read by Julie Tremblay and Patricia Fox. The Intercessions were read by Doris Poirier. The offertory was brought up to the altar by Theresa Tremblay, Joanne Charpentier and Patricia Fox.
Words of remembrance was given by Joanne Charpentier, and a poem about a great mother-in-law was read by Robert Tremblay. At the cemetery a poem, “If I Knew,” was read by Marc Tremblay and the song, “Wind Beneath My Wings,” by Kenny Rogers, was played in honor of Marc’s grandmother.
Pallbearers were Marc and Robert Tremblay, Roland and Brian Boucher, Richard Foisy and Matthew Paradis.
A reception of fellowship was held at Marco’s Restaurant following the committal service at the cemetery.
