SOUTH PARIS – Elizabeth “Elissa” Beals Dennison died Sabbath morning, Feb. 10, at home with her sister, Pat Robitaille, in South Paris.
Her other sisters are Barbara B. Beal of Lincoln, Mass.; Stephanie Swaney of Louisiana, and Margaret Torelli of South Carolina.
Her son, Richard Dennison of Concord, who owns Angelina’s Restaurant, was able to visit frequently in her last days, bringing her dearly beloved grandson, Corey Dennison, with him. Her youngest grandson, Ian Dennison, she didn’t know as well, but she also loved him.
She attended Colby Junior College, now Colby Sawyer College, and had become an adept word game aficionado.
She had worked as a CNA, but because of her multiple medical problems she became unable to work.
In spite of that, her outreach to others grew into volunteer driving for Community Concepts, which was a great blessing to her and to others.
People will remember her for her upbeat cheerful heart, and her love of color in her clothing, which she said was an expression of the joy in her life. Crafts were a big part of her life and she loved to yard sale and collect “treasures.”
She was strong, independent, and handy with tools. She loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. Late in her life she adopted her first pet (an abandoned kitty) and was amazed at how important that kitty became to her.
Her many friends in Concord, N.H., her family in New London, N.H., her friends in Norway and South Paris and her church family in Oxford will all deeply miss her.
