LEWISTON – Rose-Aimee DeMoras, 79, a resident of Montello Commons in Lewiston, formerly of Bowdoin, died Saturday morning, Feb. 10, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, where she had been a patient for one day.

She was born Jan. 30, 1928, in Livermore Falls, the daughter of Octave and Alice (LaLiberte) DeMoras.

She attended school at St. Rose in Jay and earned a scholarship to Mount Merici School in Waterville, but stayed at home after the death of her mother to help raise her brothers and sisters.

She had worked in the shoe shops in the area. She lived in Bowdoin for many years on the farm.

She enjoyed knitting, needlepoint and embroidery, winning many blue ribbons at the fairs for the beautiful pieces she had made.

She also liked canning, making wine and root beer, which was very delicious, according to her family.

She was known for her healing capabilities and healed many people in her family with homemade remedies.

She was a member of St. Peter and St. Paul Parish in Lewiston.

She is survived by her son, Denis Lavellée and his wife, Marybeth, of Sanford; her granddaughter, Michelle Bernard and her husband, Peter, and their two children, Alexander and Elizabeth of Milford; three sisters, Gabrielle DeMoras of Lewiston, Marcelle Ballard of New Mexico, and Marguerite Moras of Livermore; two brothers, John DeMoras and his wife, Alice, of Livermore, and Henry DeMoras and his wife, Colleen, of Caledonia, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by three sisters, Agnes Stasko, Clotilde Cutting and Marie DeMoras; one brother, Louie DeMoras; and four brothers-in-law, Henry Moras, Alphonse Ballard Jr., Anthony Stasko, and Donald Cutting.
