CACHE Okla. – Lillian E. “Pee Wee” Mercier, 86, of Penobscot Street, Rumford, died early Thursday, Feb. 8, in Cache, Okla., while visiting her son.
She was born in Rumford on Nov. 2, 1920, a daughter of Albert C. and Annette (Fournier) Lefebvre and was educated in Mexico schools.
She was a beautician for many years in Mexico and most recently was working from home in Rumford.
She was an amazing cook who loved to entertain, always having a houseful of family and friends. She also loved to travel, going to Europe on several occasions. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was married to Sylvan Mercier for nearly 60 years before his death in 1999, and together they had two sons.
She is survived by her loving son, Rene “David” Mercier, and wife, Liselotte “Lotte,” of Oklahoma; a daughter-in-law, Linda Mercier of Scarborough; five grandchildren, BobbiLyn Driscoll, and husband, Barry, and Robert, Anthony, Sean and Marion; several great-grandchildren; and nephew and niece, Maurice and Theresa Fraser of Rumford.
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Sylvan; her parents; her very loved son, Larry Mercier; and a sister, Vivian Smith.
