RUMFORD – Albin J. “Sonny” Gestaut, 59, died unexpectedly on his way back from a fishing trip on Monday, Feb. 12. He was a resident of Swift River Road in Byron.

He was born in Rumford on Oct. 7, 1947, a son of Albin W. and Madeline (Zadakis) Gestaut. He graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1966. He worked as a store room clerk for NewPage Paper Co.

He belonged to the National Rifle Association, 50 Caliber Shooters Association, Blazing Star Lodge and the Second Amendment Foundation. He enjoyed shooting rifles and target practice, the outdoors and fishing. He also loved his Mopar muscle cars.

He was married in Byron on Nov. 1, 1969, to Linda M. Grenier, who survives of Byron. Other survivors include a son, Andrew Gestaut of Mexico; and a daughter, Christina Gestaut of Rumford.
