Meeting changed

WELD – The Weld Planning Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 14, has been postponed until 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at the town office.

Contra dance

STRONG – A contra dance will be held from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at the Forster Memorial Building. Beginners’ lessons will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Those who may not want to dance are welcome to listen to the music.

Katie Miazga and Kathy Twitchell, accompanied by live musicians, will guide new and experienced dancers through a variety of dancers. Contra dancing is a bit like square dancing.

Callers teach each dance before it is actually done to the music. People of all ages, including children, are welcome. Children as young as 7 are welcome to participate in adult dancing.

Those attending are asked to bring a separate pair of soft-soled shoes to protect the dance floor.

Dance prices are $5 a person or $15 for a family. The dance is sponsored by the Strong Area Business and Civic Alliance.

Bean supper

FARMINGTON – A public baked bean supper will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Chesterville Grange Hall, Knowlton Corner Road. Cost is adults, $6; children, $3. The menu will include baked beans, casseroles, salads, chop suey, biscuits and homemade pies.
