JAY – With less than a month to go before nomination papers are due back for the April 23 town meeting, some positions have no candidates. Papers are due by March 9

So far, Warren Bryant has returned papers for a three-year term on the Board of Selectmen, Town Clerk Ronda Palmer said Tuesday.

Bryant is running for third selectman, a seat held be Barry McDonald, who does not intend to run again.

There are two, three-year positions open for the Jay School Committee, she said.

No one has taken out papers for those terms, she said. They are held by Chairman Clint Brooks and Nancy Chaney.

No one has taken out papers for a three-year term on the North Jay Water District and a three-year position on the Jay Village Water District. Those positions are held by Michael Wells and Richard Jackson, respectively.

A board that has been reactivated this year has no existing members on the Jay Power District. There are three seats open, a one-year, two-year and three-year.
