Retired Sheriff Lloyd Herrick honored at party

PARIS – Former Sheriff Lloyd “Skip” Herrick was honored at a surprise retirement party Dec. 7 at the Four Seasons Function Center, Paris.

Nearly 150 people gathered to pay tribute to the retiring sheriff for his years of dedication. Numerous sheriffs, police chiefs, Oxford County Commissioners, state representatives, state officials, Oxford County Sheriff’s Department deputies, administrative staff, family and friends celebrated his 31-year law enforcement career. Herrick was sheriff for 16 years.

The sheriff was presented plaques from the Maine Sheriff’s and Maine Chiefs of Police Association as well as a lifetime membership to the Maine Chiefs of Police Association.

The event was organized by his administrative assistant, Linda Hooker, and department staff with assistance from his wife, Deborah, and sister, Rose.
