LEWISTON – Laurina Lajoie, 79, of Lewiston, passed away Saturday, Feb., 10, at Central Maine Medical Center Heart and Vascular Hospital.
She was born in Lewiston on Sept. 2, 1927, the daughter of George and Henrietta Cormier Lajoie. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1946. She was employed for many years at the Bates Manufacturing Co. as a secretary in the personnel department. She also held the same position at Raytheon Semi-Conductor until its closure.
She was also employed as a secretary at the Maine State Employment Security Commission, from which she retired in 1992. She enjoyed life to the fullest traveling, going to the seashore, playing cards with her sisters, and looking after her parents and a sister with much love. She enjoyed her monthly dining out with her co-retirees. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by five sisters, Adrienne Carpentier, Fernande Juneau, and husband, Maurice, and Anita Plourde, all of Auburn, her twin sister, Lorraine Clark of South Windsor, Conn., and Carmen, and her husband, Laurent Carrier, of Lewiston; 30 nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Ann, who passed away just hours before her on Feb. 10; and two brothers, Joseph and Maurice.
