LIVERMORE – A Livermore Falls man was injured Wednesday night after he was struck by a dump truck with a plow while walking on Route 4, south of Lake Shore Restaurant.
Rodney Therrien, 45, had at least a couple bad fractures in one leg and was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston by ambulance, Maine State Trooper Nathan Jamo said Thursday.
A nursing supervisor said the hospital could neither confirm nor deny Therrien was there Thursday night.
Pierre Castonguay, 32, of Livermore Falls, was driving the truck owned by DFD Russell Medical Center in Leeds and was on his way to plow out the center, Jamo said.
Castonguay told Jamo he was traveling south about 35 to 40 miles per hour and he didn’t see Therrien, who Castonguay said was walking in the middle of the southbound lane, the trooper said.
Therrien’s vehicle had gone off the road, Jamo said.
The accident, reported at 6:50 p.m., remains under investigation, he said.
Castonguay was not hurt in the accident, he said.
