When Hurricane Katrina happened, my husband and I were compelled to help our southern neighbors. Last spring, we joined Habitat for Humanity in Louisiana. For two weeks, we helped rebuild a few homes that were damaged.
After seeing the devastation firsthand, it was clear the reconstruction would be a long process. Our experience working with Habitat and the warm Louisiana people was very rewarding. In a few weeks we are preparing to return to Louisiana and work again with Habitat. Please, let us not forget our southern neighbors because they still need our support.
Remember they came and helped us during the ice storm, now it’s our turn to help them.
