NORWAY – Harrison writer Lisa Moore will read aloud her story “Lincoln’s Birthday” Wednesday, Feb. 28, at the Norway Memorial Library.
The story is part of an unpublished collection called “The House of Baskets and Other Stories,” written for young readers. It is written from the point of view of a dog named Lincoln and takes place in the Oxford Hills. The story is best suited to students ages 9 and older and their parents.
A professional writer for more than two decades, Moore has self-published a collection of poems for young people called “There is a Crooked River.”
In 2003, she wrote and performed “The Haiku Project,” a playful celebration of 100 original haiku poems. In 2005, she published “Elie Wiesel: Surviving the Holocaust, Speaking Out Against Genocide,” a biography for high-school students. She also writes educational materials for textbook companies.
The reading will begin at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 743-9808.
