LEWISTON – Eugene and Rachel Veilleux Jr. of Lewiston are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Karen Veilleux, to Andrew Smith, son of Bruce and Beth Smith of Tupper Lake, N.Y.

Miss Veilleux is a 1994 graduate of Lewiston High School and a 1999 graduate of Western New England College in Springfield, Mass., with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is a certified public accountant and is currently employed as a financial analyst at American Renal Associates in Beverly, Mass.

Mr. Smith is a 1993 graduate of Tupper Lake High School and received his bachelor’s degree in fine arts in 1998 from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and a master’s degree in art education in 2005 from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He is currently writing and illustrating children’s books.

An Oct. 6 wedding is planned.
