Ash Wednesday

FARMINGTON – An Ash Wednesday service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21, at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, corner of Academy and Main streets.

Dog testing

FAIRFIELD – The Tri-County Obedience Club will conduct a canine good citizen testing for dogs, mixed or purebred, from 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, at the Fairfield Community Center, Water Street.

Cost is $15 a dog. To register, call Dale Dutill at 397-4105. All dogs who pass the 10-step test may receive a certificate from the American Kennel Club. For more information, visit www.akc.org.

Wednesday service

DIXFIELD – The Dixfield Congregational Church will hold an Ash Wednesday service at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 21. All are welcome.

Church program

DIXFIELD – The Dixfield Seventh-day Adventist Church will sponsor “Learn to Accept Yourself and Understand Others,” a six-week program to be held from 6 to 8 p.m. starting Wednesday, Feb. 21.

Esther White, a long-time resident of the area, will present the four basic temperaments and how they interact with various relationships.

Also presented will be how a person’s temperament impacts their emotions and how and why they react to situations the way they do. The final two sessions will show how the temperaments take part in personal territorial boundaries and birth order.

The church is located on the corner of Route 142 and Blayne Street.
