LIVERMORE – Recent fundraisers to help Camryn Berry and her family with medical expenses have raised thousands of dollars, said Diane Pelletier, Berry’s grandmother.

The 7-year-old has undergone two surgeries for the progressive facial fibrous dysplasia disease that causes bony tumors to take over normal bone and is expected to undergo many more by her late 20s.

Among the fundraisers in January and February were a benefit dance, raffles, business donations and a bottle drive by a classmate.

“Camryn and her family want to thank the local community for their support during this time of her recent surgery and recovery,” Pelletier said. “The response from the community has been overwhelming. We appreciate the cards, gifts, phone calls and prayers everyone has given us.”
