LEWISTON – Grace Eva Danforth, 73, of Hallowell Road, Litchfield, passed away Monday, Feb. 19, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, with her family by her side.
She was born on Oct. 22, 1933, at the Gardiner General Hospital. She was the daughter of Gordon L. and Eva Williams Tenney. She attended Gardiner schools and graduated from Gardiner High School in 1952, as an honor student.
She was married to Chester A. Danforth of Litchfield in 1953. She belonged to the Litchfield Extension and was employed at the Litchfield school cafeteria for many years.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years; two sons, Alton, and his girlfriend, Judy, of Standish and Jay, and his wife, Betty, of Litchfield; two daughters, Rose, and her husband, Randall Gray, of Skowhegan and Julie, and her husband, Mike Blais, of Durham; two brothers, Robert Tenney of Oklahoma and Garlen Tenney of Virginia; grandchildren, Eric, Angelique, Olivia, Amy, Rodney, Amber, Elaine, Beth, Jayson, Jessica, Kara and Craig; and great-grandchildren, Charles, Sarenna and Deanna and twin girls due in April and another baby due in June.
She was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Susan Elaine Danforth; grandsons, Tracey Gray and Randy Danforth; brothers, Lee, Arthur and Elwood Tenney; sister, Ethel Chapman; and great-grandchild, Michael Warren.
