STORRS, Conn. (AP) – A University of Connecticut student, who allegedly bought alcohol for two 18-year-olds charged in the hit-and-run death of a UConn freshman, has been arrested.

Kara Satalin, 18, of Syracuse, N.Y., turned herself in at the UConn police headquarters on Sunday just after 5 p.m. She was charged with purchasing alcohol for a minor, conspiracy to procure liquor for a minor, misrepresentation of age to procure liquor, third-degree identity theft and conspiracy to committee third-degree identity theft, police said.

Anthony P. Alvino and UConn freshman Michele A. Hall were arrested Thursday on warrants and face several felony and misdemeanor charges.

Investigators say Alvino was driving and Hall was his front-seat passenger when their sports utility vehicle struck UConn student Carlee Wines, 19, of Manalapan, N.J., in a campus crosswalk on Jan. 20. Wines died at Hartford Hospital two days later.

Police said Satalin was not in the vehicle.

Satalin, according to an arrest affidavit, allegedly bought three to four bottles of vodka at a liquor store on Jan. 19 for Alvino, Hall and others.

Satalin acquired a driver’s license from Hall, who said the woman in the photo resembled Satalin.

She was released on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Rockville Superior Court on Feb. 27.

Police said more arrests are expected.
