FARMINGTON – Ralph J. Jacques, 87, of Rangeley, died Saturday, Feb. 17, at Orchard Park Rehab and Living Center, where he had been a resident since January, after a short illness.
He was born July 2, 1919, in Oquossoc, a son of Charles N. and Louise (Normand) Jacques.
He was educated in the schools of Oquossoc, Rumford, and graduated from Rangeley High School, and later graduated from Auburn Maine School of Commerce. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was stationed in Europe. He worked for Bald Mt. Camps for many years, and during the winter months he worked at the Rangeley Redemption Center, and in his wood working shop.
He made his home in the Rangeley region all his life. He served on the Rangeley planning board for several years. He enjoyed fishing, and being with his family, and life-long companion and business partner, Joyce Blackwell.
He is survived by his grandnephews, Stephen, Christopher, and John Philbrick; and grandniece, Mary Philbrick, and their families.
