LEWISTON – Robert E. Harlow, 72, died Sunday, Feb. 18, at the Central Maine Medical Center. He was a resident of Granite Street in Mexico.
He was born in Rumford, on Oct. 20, 1934, a son of the late Benjamin and Georgia (Worthley) Harlow.
He was a graduate of Mexico High School, Class of 1952. He worked in the maintenance department for Mead Paper Co., as a journeyman mechanic.
He was a member of the Rumford Falls Aerie 1248, FOE, Dixfield Senior Citizens Club, charter member of the Mexico Historical Society, and a life member of the Carthage Historical Society, 25- and 40-year club, at Mead Paper. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing and telling stories.
He was married in Mexico, on Oct. 30, 1953, to Marjorie Hill, who survives, of Mexico.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah McLean, and her husband, Howard, of Jay and Diane Arsenault, and her companion, Willard Shurtleff, of Rumford; two sons, Jeffrey Harlow, and his wife, Shelly, of Dixfield and John Harlow, of Mexico; 10 grandchildren, Izetta, Mandy, Howard, Jr., Daren, Eric, Ami-Jo, Kristen, Sarah, Benjamin, Nicholas; and nine special great-grandchildren.
