SALEM – A Student Assistance Team has been formed at Mt. Abram High School.
The team, which has received training from the Maine Department of Education, consists of a diverse group of school personnel who accept referrals, intervene and identify pro-active options in order to help students.
The team assists students who may be experiencing difficulties in their lives and/or are attempting to change their lives in a positive direction.
The team utilizes available school and community resources to provide strategies to bring about affirmative change.
It explores problems and complexities causing disruption in a student’s life and uses a process to develop positive options.
Follow-up is an important part of the commitment to the student.
Anyone who has concerns about a Mt. Abram student can find brochures with referral forms at local venues throughout the district.
