LIVERMORE FALLS – Police are investigating a residential burglary that netted more than $3,000 in property.
They’re also looking into a fight that broke out at a bar early Sunday.
A Fairview Street resident reported that a safe that had been hidden in the residence but was unsecured had been entered and several valuables taken, police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said Tuesday.
The burglary at the residence off Route 17 was reported Friday.
Reported missing was a $2,800-plus broach, two collectible watches and two rings, Steward said.
In a separate incident, police were called to a fight at the Riverview Pub on Depot Street early Sunday, the chief said.
Two fights broke out simultaneously and three people, including the bar owner, were punched, he said.
At least three people are facing assault charges, he said.
Initially it looks like there were six to eight people involved, he said. Other people jumped on the backs of those fighting to try and break it up.
Some people involved in the fight left the bar before police arrived, he added.
