Emergency room nurse Linda Dutile came to LMS last week to talk to the students about some scenarios she has seen at the emergency room involving kids in middle school. Of the stories that she told us, most of them involved drugs or were alcohol related. She told the students about a substance called “charcoal”. It is a thick, horrible tasting liquid that the people in the emergency room need you to drink so they can pump your stomach free of alcohol or drugs. They can use this liquid for drug overdoses as well. The presentation showed students here that using drugs and alcohol can lead to some very bad consequences.
