On January 25, Elm Street School held their annual Semi Formal for the seventh and eighth graders. This year is happened to be a Hawaiian theme.
Kaitlyn Roy, a seventh grader and Tanisha Elston, also a seventh grader, created most of the decorations. Olivia Doyer, an eighth grader and Torie Doyer, a fifth grader participated in making some of the decorations.
When set-up time rolled around many people volunteered to help including those mentioned above: Meghan Rowe, Sarah Goss, Staci Piirainen, David Dean, Jacob Littlefield, Chris Johnson, Mrs. Callahan, Mrs. Whitten, Mrs. Martin, Mr. Reed and Tami Roy, Kaitlyn’s mother. Many people chipped in their time to help for this event.
At the beginning of the dance, at seven p.m., it was picture time. Pictures went from seven to seven-fifteen. Once seven-fifteen came about the lights turned off and the dance began.
The chaperons included Mrs. Callahan, Mr. Reed, Mrs. martin, Mr. and Mrs. Rose, Mrs. Larrabee and Mrs. Matthews. Some chaperons walked around during the dance and others worked at the food table.
The traditional last dance played once more, Stairway to Heaven, to close out the final semi for eighth graders.
