LEWISTON – Rachel C. Spilecki of Lewiston, a senior at Lewiston High School, has been selected to receive the 2007 Principal’s Award, Principal W. Gus LeBlanc has announced. The award, sponsored by the Maine Principals’ Association, is given in recognition of a high school senior’s academic achievement and citizenship.

LeBlanc stated, “Rachel has consistently demonstrated the characteristics of responsibility and dependability so necessary in any leader. Throughout her years at Lewiston High School, Rachel has distinguished herself in the classroom, in interscholastic competition and as a leader in the school and community.”

Spilecki, LeBlanc and other award-winners and their principals will attend an honors luncheon at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 7, at the Bangor Civic Center.

The luncheon recognizes the students with the presentation of an individual plaque and pin. At the conclusion of the luncheon, drawings will be held for five $1,000 scholarships.

Spilecki is the daughter of Patricia Spilecki of Sabattus and Stanley Spilecki of Lewiston.
