LEWISTON – Adele D. Blais, 93, of Auburn, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 22, at Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center.

She was born on Sept. 25, 1913, in St. Ludger P.Q. Canada. She was the daughter of Victor and Olivine (Begin) Dupuis. She was educated in Canadian schools and was employed by many local shoe manufacturers in the Lewiston and Auburn area.

In her early retirement years, she worked as an expert seamstress in fine Fort Lauderdale boutiques. She was a great-grandmother who enjoyed lifelong interest in knitting, a craft in which she excelled. In later years, she was especially pleased to knit for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Adele was a former member for many years of the Dames de St. Anne.

She is survived by three daughters, Venise Langlois of Lewiston, Doris Orestis of Litchfield, and Diane Ferreira and husband, Walter, of Cape Elizabeth; a sister and a brother, Lawrence Dupuis of Lewiston, and Armande Dupuis of Connecticut; six grandchildren, David, Daniel, and Sandra Langlois, Lisa Ferreira, and John and George Orestis; six great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; many brothers and sisters; and two sons-in-law, Armand Langlois and Alexander W. Orestis.
