AUBURN – The New Auburn American Legion Post 153 Scouts held a Blue and Gold banquet at the post home recently. A large contingent of family members were present to watch the Cubs receive their patches and belt awards.

Scoutmaster Ron Poulin also held a Court of Honor for his troop.

The honored guest was Auburn Mayor John Jenkins, who recalled his time as a Scout. He told the Scouts they were doing a wonderful job in the community and advised them to keep it up.

Post Americanism Officer Richard Doucette spoke on Americanism and on the American flag.

Matt Mower, Scout district executive from headquarters, South Portland, talked on “Friends of Scouting.” American Legion Auxiliary Americanism Chairwoman Irene Ervine presented a plaque to the Scouts.

A buffet was held, with the Scout leaders serving from a double long table of dishes. The Post 153 presented a large Blue and Gold Boy Scout cake designed for the event. The hall was decorated in blue and gold.
